I know it is a little bit after the fact, but I wanted to share some fun snapshots of our church's 4th of July pancake breakfast. A good time was had by all - and don't those blueberries look just scrumptious? And the pancakes and sausage were oh so good as well... Our little family spent most of the day moving that day, but we took a little break from that to go see the fireworks at the bluffs above the bay in Newport Beach. Sorry that it's mostly the kids - adults are just so camera shy!
Meet Miss Lacey, a gorgeous 3-month old with a gorgeous gown. Her mom drove all the way from Calabasas to have her photographed and her boys came with. They hit it off with my own kids and didn't want to leave by the time we were all done! Tiffany was best friends with my little sister in High School in Agoura Hills. So we had a good time catching up and I enjoyed hearing about old friends there. But Lacey was the star of the show! Don't you just love her chub and that adorable dimple? Not to mention the beautiful blessing gown her grandmother got for her. I hope you enjoy your sneak peak, Tiffany... Many more to come!
The Watermans met and courted here at lifeguard station 17 - I think it was 43 years ago. Now they live back East, but they came out here with their kids and grandkids to celebrate their anniversary. We headed back to shoot right where it all began - at lifeguard station 17. I had a great time and they were such a lovely family. Thanks for including me in your special day! Here's a sneak peak from your session -there are many more to come. And have a great 4th of July, celebrating the many freedoms we enjoy in this great land!
... the soon to be newest member of our family! That's right, this is my brother Jesse with his fiancee. I had the pleasure of heading up to Utah to stay with Mindie and take some Bridal and engagement pictures. We had a great time together and I loved getting to know Mindie better. She is so fun and so good for Jesse. They are so cute together and I can't wait to shoot their wedding this August. I guess I will have to wait to post the bridals (which we shot at Temple Square and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building) after the wedding so Jesse doesn't see the dress. For the engagements we went down to Memory Grove, where I have so many fond memories of driving the horse-drawn carriages as a newlywed myself. Thanks again guys for a great weekend and a great time!
April 2, 2008 Dear Vanessa, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the time you have spent creating the gorgeous photos and photo books of my family for the last two years. You have captured such beautiful and spontaneous expressions on my children’s faces. I am delighted each and every time I look at the pictures in my home (and they are hanging on every available wall!) and I am so proud to share the books with friends and family.
You are a uniquely talented photographer and I truly appreciate your patience and determination. You generously take a multitude of photos and then manage to turn so many of them into masterpieces. I think that what sets you apart from other photographers however, is your ability to take the photos to the next level and make them tell a story. The Asuka Books you have created for my family will always be some of my most treasured possessions, because of the artistic and innovative way you bring the individual photos together with color and design. Thank you, Vanessa, for your time and talent. I anxiously await our next photo experience!
