Casual and Cozy - a wedding at home

This wedding last weekend was such a pleasure to shoot because it was so relaxed and intimate - just close friends and family at the home of the bride. The flowers and colors were gorgeous, the food divine and the setting was so relaxed that the kids were jumping in the pool towards the end! Everyone (including myself) had such a great time just being together. And the bride's children were cuter than cute as well! Thanks for sharing your wonderful day with me Laurie and Jim!

Adventures at HighTide

Well, when I arrived at the beach on Wednesday, my heart sank. I have shot at Wood's Cove on several occasions - high tide, medium tide and low tide. I had looked up at tidesonline to see when high tide would be and was told 5:33 - just in time for the big group portrait. Well, I thought we would be OK since I have dealt with high tide before. But when I arrived, not only were my posing rocks completely under the water, but the water came all the way up to the stairway leading onto the beach. And there was only a strip of sand about 5 feet across available before hitting the cliffs.

But amazingly enough with a group of 31 people (14 of them very young children), things went really pretty smoothly. Thanks so very much to my friend Jennifer Gilmore (whose pics you can see in the below post) for coming along to help. I could never have done it without you! A fcouple of the bridals in the collage below were also taken by her. And thanks to this great family for being such troopers! I hope you had half as much fun as I did.

We started off with bridals, then moved on to the big group and then did a couple of small family groupings and grandkids. Enjoy your sneak peak guys! More to come later!

Farewell Shoot at "The Castle

Well, I couldn't have picked a more fun "taker" for my last shoot at "The Castle." It is always fun making portraits with other photographers, and my friend Jennifer and her husband Brian are fabulous photographers. You can check out their work at www.jennifergilmore.com. Besides being terribly photogenic themselves, they have some pretty adorable kids who obviously have lots of practice being in front of the camera. They put up with me taking about a trillion pictures of them. Thanks guys for indulging my trip down memory lane and trying out all my crazy ideas! I (obviously) had a hard time narrowing down pics for the blog - I have lots more I've already edited. And you'll have them all soon!
