A Guy, His Guitar & His Mom

A couple of months ago "D" contacted me via my website with a splendid idea. He wanted to surprise his mom with some beautiful portraits - of himself and her as well as the two of them together - for a Christmas present. So he saved up all his money and told his mom to take the day off for a "surprise." She was both thrilled and touched (I think).

I told one of my friends who has 19 year old as well as her younger kids and she said, "What I wouldn't give for my son to think of doing something so sweet as that!" I couldn't agree more. What a treasured gift to keep forever. I tried to picture my little "J" offering such a gift and then my whole family's chorus reverberated in my mind..." Not more pictures! We don't need any more pictures of anyone here. What are you going to do with all of these pictures anyways?" And "J" runs and hide when the camera comes out. So this will probably never happen to me. But still a great gift idea for anyone who doesn't already have 3 terabytes of family pictures.

And "D" and his mom were so sweet together - it was such a joy to capture their loving relationship and see the tenderness between them. And I was entertained as I shot with some great guitar music! Thanks for sharing your day with me guys!
